Nairobi’s green building with charging port for electric cars

Developed by PDM Holdings Limited, Vienna Court is a ksh.2.6 billion five-storey complex boasting 11,500 sq. ft. of office space and salubriously embraces green building concept. PDM contracted Kujenga Limited, an architectural firm with fine workmanship and experience in green technology to construct and ensure the project was a success.
PDM General Manager Azmeena Bhanji said the rise in demand for high end offices that offered more than just a work space catalyzed the idea to build a green complex. “There’s high demand for Grade A offices that provide a wholesome approach to the work space. We have an underground parking bay for 400 cars as well as reserved bicycle reserve spaces, charge port for electric cars, conference facility, gym and a cafeteria,” she said.
The building’s facade is magnificent, pampered with an array of waterfronts and natural lush green garden hosting trees as old dating to the early 50s. Its long all-round windows give panoramic views of the serene surrounding while the extended balconies ensure tenants savor the wafting breeze and the gardens when moving around.
According to Azmeena, Vienna Court is a silver bullet towards healthy lifestyle. “We encourage our tenants to perceive cycling as a healthy lifestyle that beats traffic congestion. We believe the bathrooms next to the bicycle parking yard will change people’s attitude towards bicycles from it being a poor person’s mobility to a must have health boosting equipment,” she added

It largely encompasses LED lighting equipped with motion sensors, solar shading use of balconies and water recycling techniques.
